The Parks Advisory Board consists of eight members appointed by City Council. The Parks Advisory Board makes recommendations to City Council in matters regarding open space planning, parks, recreation planning and/or the contemplated purchase, disposal, or trade of parks and recreation land. The Parks Advisory Board acts according to the vision, future plans and goals outlined in the City’s adopted Comprehensive Plan as it pertains to the City of Plainview Parks Department. The Parks Advisory Board also makes recommendations to City Council concerning the prioritization of funds appropriated for open space planning, parks and recreation planning.
Level of Authority: The Parks Advisory Board provides recommendations to City Council on strategic planning efforts requiring Council action.
