Board Responsibilities
The Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone #1, Historic Downtown Plainview (“Downtown TIRZ #1 Board”) consists of seven members appointed by City Council and the Hale County Commissioners Court. The appointed members of the Downtown TIRZ #1 Board acts in an advisory capacity to establish and administer economic development programs, including the power to make loans and grants from collected tax increment, authorized under Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code.
Level of Authority: The TIRZ #1 Board acts in an advisory capacity to grant applications via City Council for projects in the district.
Term Length: Two year terms.
