Collection Services

The City of Plainview Solid Waste Management Department is in charge of collections / disposal of waste. Collections are done on three residential routes and two commercial routes. The following collection services are available in the City of Plainview:

  • Side-load residential collection - Consists of three routes and services around 7,000 boxes in town a week
  • Front-load commercial collection - Consists of two route drivers and services around 800 businesses a week
  • Cardboard collection route - Runs Monday and Thursday only

Alley Maintenance

Alley maintenance includes grading alley ruts but the weeds and trash around the container are to be maintained by the homeowner of the property. Many complaints are made about the trash / items that neighbors set by the container. We refer complaints to Code Enforcement at (806) 296-1100.
