[ARCHIVED] Unger Receives Re-Accreditation

The City of Plainview Unger Memorial Library has received re-accreditation from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and will continue to be a qualified member of the Texas Library System.

The Library has received accreditation for more than 34 years. As an accredited library, citizens will have access to programs offered by the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.

Programs include:

  • Statewide Interlibrary Loan
  • E-Read Texas
  • TexShare Card 
    1. Provides borrowing privileges from more than 450 participating libraries across Texas
  • TexShare Database Programs
    1. E-resource databases which include teaching information, genealogy, journals, career information, heritage databases, Sanborn maps and an information hub for Spanish speakers
  • Summer Library Program materials
  • Youth / Teen Programs

The Unger Memorial Library is the informational, educational, recreational and social center of Plainview and of surrounding Hale County; their mission is to create infinite opportunities for the community to connect, share, succeed and thrive.
