The Plainview City Council has appointed Jeff Johnston as Interim City Manager during their meeting on Thursday, December 19th. Johnston will officially assume the role on January 3rd.
Currently serving as Assistant City Manager, Johnston joined the City of Plainview in May 2018 as Community Development Manager and was promoted to his current position in May 2019. Before his time in Plainview, Johnston gained valuable experience as City Manager for Floydada and Petersburg and also worked for the City of Lubbock.
Johnston will step into the role of Interim City Manager following the departure of Jeffrey Snyder. The City is actively working with Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to select the next City Manager.
