Board Responsibilities

Plainview First consists of eight members appointed by the City Council and mayor. It also consists of the following economic development partners: Wayland Baptist University, South Plains College, Covenant Hospital Plainview, Plainview / Hale EDC, Hale County, Plainview Chamber of Commerce, Plainview Independent School District, Ports to Plains, Workforce Center, High Ground and the City of Plainview.

The diversity of participants and organizations they represent, create a unique coalition that works together to bring industry, retail, and tourism to Plainview. Plainview First’s primary focus is to enhance economic development efforts through the coordination of local economic development partners and their committees.
